  • Watching my boys grow up is one of the greatest joys and hardest parts of motherhood. 🤍 Sometimes I catch myself just watching them. Not because they’re doing anything extraordinary. They’re just being boys. Laughing. Playing. Giving each other a hard time. Completely unaware that their mom is standing there trying to memorize every little piece of who they are right now. And my heart just feels… full. Because when you’re raising kids, so much of motherhood is spent doing. Making the meals. Driving everyone everywhere. Reminding them 47 times to put their shoes on. Breaking up arguments. Worrying. Planning. Trying to make sure they have everything they need. And then, every once in a while, you stop long enough to actually see them. These are my boys. The little people who made me a mom. These little boys who used to need me for everything are growing up right before my eyes. I know there will come a day when my house is quieter. When they aren’t running in and out of the door. When I’m not driving them everywhere or hearing them yell “MOM!” from another room. And I know I’ll miss this version of us. So sometimes I just watch them. I let everything else wait and try to burn the ordinary into my memory. Because one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking things about being a mom is realizing that while you’re busy raising them… they’re becoming the people they’re going to be.   • This room is my space most of the year. It’s where my clothes overflow, where I do my makeup, and where I pull out my walking pad when I need a good workout. Then visitors arrive…. The Murphy bed is the entire reason this space works.
