  • Twenty years ago, I prayed someone would give me a chance. I landed a design internship (and paid!) the summer of my jr. year. At the end of the summer, the woman who hired me gave me this bracelet as a thank you and good luck gift. It wasn’t expensive.   • The patio setup I finally landed on 🤍 I went back and forth… black chairs or cream chairs, rug or no rug, bench or all chairs. But once I looked at the whole backyard together, the black woven chairs made more sense. They tie into the black-and-white umbrellas, the grill, the shed roof, the rug border, and all the little black accents we already have outside. The goal was simple: make this space feel elevated, but still practical for real life — kids running in from the pool, casual dinners outside, and squeezing extra little bodies onto the bench when friends are over.
