DIY Ikea Cabinet Hack!

Last year we were fortunate enough to renovate our entire first floor. With that project, walls were taken down and an entirely new kitchen was added. I went with white cabinets around the wall space and a beautiful walnut island to help give the space an elevated, rich contrast.

After living in our newly renovated home for about a year, I realized that these white Ikea cabinets were no longer working. So I decided to head to our local Benjamin Moore store and start painting!

I did pull a ton of inspiration from Pinterest before I headed to the paint store. It’s something I always recommend before you take on a big (or small) project! You can see my inspiration board for this space here.

And here is a post on the installation process for the Ikea Havsta units.

After

I used Benjamin More Iron Ore for a moody, more drastic statement on these cabinets. The crystal chandelier stands out against this color while the rug adds a modern softness to the room.
